Some of our favourite jobs begin with the vaguest of enquiries. This one? No exception and we loved it.

Recently, we received a message that simply read:

“Can you provide an engraved hard plastic type label in approx 100 by 45 size ideally with a slot (5mm) at the narrow end and engraved on both sides. About 4 lines of text on each side.”

That was it.

No attachments. No layout files. Just a quick note and a screenshot from a Pages document.

Next, we rebuilt the layout from scratch. We made sure the text aligned clearly on both sides.

Then, we selected the right material. In this case, UV-stable plastic perfect for outdoor or marine use.

After that, we added the 5mm slot. This made the tag easy to mount on a post or mooring.

Finally, we engraved both sides with precision. The result was sharp, legible, and professional.
